Report on Eurasia MOTOBIKE Expo 2015 and Turkish MarketDate:01-01-1970 Source:chinamotor
From 2014 to March 2015, lira had been depreciated against dollar, which resulted in decreased overseas purchasing inventory by Turkish importers. As a consequence, the Eurasia MOTOBIKE Expo, held from March 1 to 4, 2015 in Istanbul, focused more on the expanding of the domestic markets. Besides, most of the overseas brands were exhibited by Turkish agencies, including BRP, BMW, Piaggio, Triumph, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Arctic Cat, Polaris, KTM, Ducati, Haojue, Bajaj, TVS, Hero, etc. Among the Chinese motorcycle enterprises, only Lifan Turkey company directly participated in the expo with a specially designed stand of 80 square meters, and only 10 accessories enterprises participated in the expo, such as Huawei Power Source Co., Ltd. Compared with the previous expos, the number of Chinese exhibitors at this expo was greatly decreased.
The major exhibits in the Eurasia MOTOBIKE Expo were motorcycles, bikes, ATV/UTV, snowmobile, electric motorcycles, electric bikes and accessories. This Eurasia MOTOBIKE Expo was distributed in the 9th, 10th and 11th hall of the ERS Exhibition Center as before, with the exhibition area of about 12,660㎡. It attracted all major Turkish importers, including CUBA, YUKI, ASYAMOTOR, ARORA, KANUNI, SALCANO, RMG, MOTORAN, APACHI, ST, etc. Only MONDIAL was absent from the exhibition, which was attributed to the scrambling of stand with Honda (at present, the top three brands of motorcycle sales in Turkey are MONDIAL, HONDA and KUBA). This expo was mainly held for the service of the major Turkish purchasers and agencies of all major brands. Due to insufficient degree of internationalization and limited influence on the surrounding markets, fewer overseas customers were present.
Major Importers at the Expo
MEGA summarized the local importers in this expo but excluded the importers of the international brands, such as YAMAHA, KAWASAKI, SUZUKI, HONDA, DUCATI and KTM. However, we focused on the importers that have cooperation with Chinese enterprises. Turkish importers adopt multichannel importing mode. They not only import several brands from the same region but also involve in the product lines of motorcycles and electric vehicles. Similarly, Chinese suppliers seek multi-way cooperation in Turkey. This makes it a common situation that the reports about motorcycles and electric vehicles are integrated and the different importers import the same brands.
